Gibson Barney Kessel Custom 1968
Up for sale is an excellent to mint example of a 1968 Gibson Barney Kessel Custom!
Amazing figuring in the Spruce top and Maple back and sides. Stunning sunburst finish that has kept its colourful punch. This guitar is all original, with PAT No. humbuckers that sound oh so sweet (factory wiring and pots), factory tail piece (Barbey Kessel Brazilian rosewood insert) and bridge, tuning keys, knobs and switch, down to the coolest part in my opinion... a factory stinger!
Some checking in the finish on the headstock as pictured, but close to no checking on the rest of the guitar. The fretboard seems to have a thin coat of laquer added on top of the Brazilian rosewood which is a common addition on vintage jazz boxes, though could be easily removed to bring back the natural rosewood grain.This is a true vintage survivor.
